About Dtox

Dtox is an AI-assisted news digest that reports on how online toxicity — hate speech, extremism, incitement, misogyny, conspiracy and disinformation — corrodes society and democracy. It is published by ACCOUNTability!, the team behind the AI Powered Social Scan.

Who publishes Dtox

Dtox is produced and published by ACCOUNTability! (AI Powered Social Scan), the same team that operates the public-post scanning tool at scan.aipoweredsocialscan.com. Dtox is our newsroom: a digest devoted to a single subject — the real-world harm that online toxicity does to communities, elections and democratic life.

How we source and write

Every Dtox dispatch is built on established, high-credibility reporting. We draw on major international wire services and papers of record — Reuters, the Associated Press, Agence France-Presse, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Guardian, the BBC, Der Spiegel, Le Monde, El País, NPR, PBS and their peers — and on primary authorities such as United Nations bodies, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, courts and official records. Every factual claim in a story is attributed to a named source and linked, so readers can check it for themselves.

We write in a neutral, wire-service style: accuracy first, no editorialising beyond the evidence, and one real, reported event or study per article. A story is published only when it is corroborated by at least two top-tier international sources; if it is not, we do not run it.

How AI is used — and its limits

Dtox is AI-assisted. Articles are drafted by an AI system working under fixed editorial rules, then checked against their sources: every quote and figure is verified against the original outlet, and anything that cannot be confirmed is removed or the story is dropped. AI can still make mistakes — that is why every claim links to its source, and why we welcome corrections.

Independence and how we are funded

Dtox is funded by ACCOUNTability!, which sells a social-media scanning service. We keep the reporting separate from the product: articles carry no product placement, and the only commercial element is a single, clearly-labelled advertisement at the foot of each piece. Our reporting is not for sale.
